We live in very fertile country as this photo shows! I can’t believe the size of this pumpkin – just imagine how much pumpkin soup it would make or how many people it could feed!
And I have to tell you, it’s not the only giant one in the patch. There’s four! Along with other amazing gourmet products grown with good ole’ sheep manure.
I think this might be being entered in the Condingup Community Fair Vegie Comp – there seems to be a rather intense rivalry between two of Condy’s families and Mrs Inkster tells me that her vegie’s have copyright on them!
Sorry Gill, I stole a photo!

How strong are you? Have you got a team that could pull a tractor? Well we put it to the test on Saturday, March 21 with the Staines Esperance Tractor Pull at the Condingup P&C Community Fair. There’s $500 up for grabs – you should be able to shout the bar with that!
There’s so many things happening outside on Saturday that there’s no reason for you to stay in town. Get in your car and come to Condy for the day.
We’ve got Doopa Dog, free races and activities for the kids, The Bucking Bull, Farm Centre Cull Cup (which is the biggest laugh in the world!) There’s the Farm & General Dog High Jump (another $500 up for grabs… lots of dog food!) and all the displays – Esperance Helitours, Dept Planning and infrastructure (Marine Safety), Ratten & Slater, Staines Esperance, Black Dog Coffee, Bay Automotive Group, Esprinte Framing, Raw Potato Crafts and so many more.
It’s a great family day, so please come and show your support for the Condingup Community and our school.

Esperance Helitours come and ‘park’ on our hockey oval, offering rides. White knuckled fliers are more than welcome as are those who take to the air like birds.
How great it would be to see Condingup by air, or maybe check out the good fishing holes over at The Duke or close by beaches.
The noise of the chopper adds to the excitement and atmosphere at the Fair. The kids laughs and screams of delight as they bounce in the Bouncy Castle, have their face painted or ride the train is why the committee work so hard to put this all together.
There’s also a fashion parade put on by Hennesy’s. Come and check out the latest fashions and see if you recognise any of the models – it’s more than likely you will.
Don’t forget all the wonderful jewellery, stationary, camping, make-up and local produce stalls, that you can buy or order from, plus all the info desks. The Anglican Community School, The Residential College, ICPA and Employment Esperance just to name a few.
Then there’s all the outdoor displays, which I’ll tell you about next instalment!!
Don’t forget March 21. 10:00am. Condingup Community Centre and Footy oval. See you there!

March 21 is etched in the Condingup Community’s mind. It’s the date of our annual fair that we use to raise money for our school.
Its a day full of fun and excitement aimed at families. There’s a dog high jump and tractor pull, many competitions – cooking and photography and loads more that I can’t remember!
There’s races for the kids and a bouncy castle. Indoors there’s everything from jewellery and lolly stalls, information desks to local produce, while outdoors, you’ll find heaps of displays cars, farm machinery, garden nursery just to name a few.
Oh and we can’t forget the bucking bull. (If you don’t have a go, just watch some of the adults later in the day for a laugh!)
As well as displays, we showcase local talent (you’ll never know what you’ll find there …) and businesses from around the shire.
The P & C makes sure the day runs smoothly and in the evening, there’s a bar to whet your whistle!
Condy is only 67km from Esperance on Fisheries road, so c’mon, come and visit – we’d love to see you!
