Among all the excitement of Red Dust hitting the shelves, our ewes have started lambing! This little bloke is one of many.

Lambing is great fun to watch. Once they get a bit older they run, jump, pigroot and play around like nothing. Absolutely gorgeous to watch.

But the other great thing about lambing (and calving) is it’s the start of a new year as such.

New lambs, new calves, time to put the crop in … all things that signify that we’re ready step up to the plate again for another year of farming.

Been getting up close and personal with some of our crossbred lambs.

Together with our very old dog, “woof on wheels” Rex (you take him to where you want him to be and he woofs, his favourite job!) we drenched these lambs to put onto stubble.

These lambs will be sold later on and harvested crops provide good feed to help themir keep the condition up and by drenching them, the worms will be kept at bay.

Rochelle, Hayden and Rocket helped walk them to the stubble and once in there, lambs were head down, tail up eating the grain that was left behind by the header. In a month or so they’ll be ready for sale.
